House Washing & Soft Wash for Siding in Salem, OR

Siding in this valley grows things. The fix is a low-pressure wash with the right detergent and enough dwell time — not more force.

What house washing includes

The soft wash process, step by step

Soft wash means low pressure plus cleaning solution plus time. The pressure is almost incidental.

Surfaces we will and will not hit with high pressure

Moss, mildew, and algae on Willamette Valley homes

These are three different problems and they do not all lift the same way.

How quoting works

A house wash quote depends on surface area and condition, so we look before we price.

House wash questions

Is soft washing safe for painted siding?
Yes — and it is the reason we use it. Soft wash removes mildew and algae with detergent and low pressure, so the paint film is never abraded. Blasting painted siding is what causes chalking, streaks, and premature repainting.
How do you get black mildew off without damaging the paint?
The detergent has to dwell long enough to break the growth down, then a gentle rinse carries it off. Where mildew has already stained into the film, washing improves it but only repainting fully corrects it — and we will tell you which one you are looking at.
Do you clean the north side differently?
The method is the same but it usually gets more attention, because north and east elevations stay damp and grow faster. That is the side that comes back first.
Will the water get behind my siding?
Not at soft-wash pressures. Panels are designed to shed rain, and the risk with vinyl is high-pressure spray forcing water past the laps — which is exactly why force is not used on siding.
How often should siding be washed here?
It depends on shade and tree cover rather than a fixed schedule. A shaded wall under firs will need attention far sooner than a sunlit one. We would rather tell you what your specific walls are doing than quote a universal interval.
