Method and surfaces
Is soft washing safe for painted siding?
Yes — and it is the reason we use it. Soft wash removes mildew and algae with detergent and low pressure, so the paint film is never abraded. Blasting painted siding is what causes chalking, streaks, and premature repainting.
Will pressure washing tear up my concrete?
Not at the pressures and technique used for residential concrete. Damage comes from holding a narrow nozzle too close in one spot, which etches lines. A rotary surface cleaner spreads the force evenly, which is why we use one for the bulk of a driveway.
Will cleaning make my deck fuzzy?
Soft washing at low pressure does not raise the grain. Furring comes from high pressure held close to the wood. If your deck is already fuzzy from someone else's attempt, cleaning will not reverse that — it needs sanding.
Can you clean a sealed deck without ruining the sealer?
Usually yes, at soft-wash pressure with a detergent matched to the growth rather than a stripper. What we will not do is blast it — that is what removes sealer. If the finish is already failing, cleaning may take some of it with it, and we would rather tell you that beforehand than surprise you.
Is soft washing just weak pressure washing?
No. Soft wash is low pressure plus a cleaning solution that has time to work. The pressure is not reduced because the operator is being cautious — the detergent is what removes the growth, and pressure was never doing that job.
